A collaboration between Ficus Innovations and Circular Systems

Ficus Innovations partnered with Circular Systems to collaborate on a premium knits collection designed with the lowest impact materials and processing in mind. 

By combining Agraloop™ BioFibre™ from European CBD Hemp crop residues and Ficus Innovations Natural Dye processing, we have created one of the most premium knits collection using the purest natural resources while reducing environmental impacts.

Natural Color

Ficus Innovations natural dye system has 40+ colors in its color palette. Using only plant waste and extracts from pomegranate peel, olive leaf, lavender, and walnut shell, among others, and bio-resins, plant-based oils, and clay to achieve high color fastness. No metal mordants, aluminum salts, formaldehyde, and azo dyes are used.

What is Agraloop?

Impact Data

The following LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) data was conducted by third parties. The data come from two separate reports. One data set is for Agraloop™ CBD Hemp BioFibre™ DryRefined from fiber to gate. The second data set is for Ficus Innovation Natural Dye process. The data does not include the yarn spinning and fabric formation. LCA Reports and certifications are available upon request.

Agraloop™ LCA by SCS Global compared to HIGG Index data for conventional hemp, linen, and cotton.

*The HIGG Index assesses cotton fiber processing impacts up to and including the ginning process. Subsequent carding and combing processes in preparation for spinning are not accounted here yet.

Agraloop™ BioFibre™ processing impact data includes carding and combing in the fiber processing step where it is not included in cotton processing.

This LCA study is commissioned by Sadırlar Alliance Tekstil A.Ş. (Satekstil), Turkey and prepared by Sustainability Consultant Mr Bekir Cetin and Miss. Beyza Hoşgör of Semtrio Sustainability Consulting, Turkey. 

This study has been conducted according to the principles of ISO 14040:2006 and ISO 14044:2006, standards.

Why Agraloop BioFibre?

Crops grown for food and medicine such as oilseed hemp, CBD hemp and oilseed flax produce millions of tons of residue after they are harvested. Agraloop optimizes the value of these leftovers by upgrading it into textile grade fiber.

The Agraloop™ x Ficus collection is made with BioFibre™ refined from CBD Hemp grown and processed in Europe with DryRefined processing. The Agraloop has two specialized techniques for refining crop leftovers into BioFibre, DryRefined BioFibre and Refined+ BioFibre.

DryRefined BioFibre is refined with a waterless process, and Refined+ BioFibre is refined with our proprietary wet plus dry technique.
